Goats cheese and pear canapes

Cooking time: 60 minutes.
Makes 10-12 Canapés

Caramelised onion
2 tsp olive oil
1 medium Red onion, copped
1 tbsp brown sugar

Half a pear
juice of half lemon
¼ tsp cinnamon

Other Ingredients
100g bread Bread (remove crusts)
60g butter, melted
90g Goats Cheese, cut into very thin, 2mm slices
1 medium Egg
2 ½ tbsp milk


A Baking Tray


Preheat oven to 150 c

Fry onion in olive oil for 15 minutes until caramelised. Add brown sugar and cook for further 2 mins.

When onions almost done, slice pears and pour lemon juice and cinnamon on top. Put in the fridge until ready to use.

Grease a patty tin really well with butter.  Cut a square piece of bread and place in the bottom of the pattie tin hole and brush with butter.

Top the bread with cheese and onions and pear and place a slice of bread over the top. Brush this with remaining butter.

Whisk together egg and milk. Pour egg mixture over the bread.

Cook in oven for 20-25 mins
